Richard J. Mahoney, 87, of Big Sandy, Tennessee, passed away Monday, March 21, 2022, just after 2:00 a.m. Richard was born on June 27, 1934, in Owosso, Michigan to the late Fred Mahoney and Mary O’Conner Mahoney.

Richard regularly attended St. Mary Catholic Church in Camden and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a loving husband and father, a devoted grandfather, a history buff, and a great joke teller.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Daniel Mahoney of Columbus, Ohio, and Donald Mahoney of Memphis, Tennessee; and his daughter, Debbie Mullins of Memphis, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Inez (Van Huss) Mahoney; his daughters, Darlene (Lloyd) Sloan of Chattaroy, Washington, and Diane Trish, Allenhurst, GA; his stepdaughters, Denise (Karl) Loeblein of Memphis, Tennessee, and Diane Markham of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and 15 grandchildren.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 5:00-6:30 pm at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home Camden. Rosary will be on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 from 6:30-7:00 pm at Stockdale-Malin Funeral Home Camden. The Knights of Columbus will have an honor guard at the visitation.

Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 1:30-2:30 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Herbert Ene officiating. Light Reception, Thursday, 2:30-3:30 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Interment will be Thursday, March 24, 2022, 4:00 pm at Cooper Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations in honor of Richard can be sent to the Knights of Columbus, 220 West Main Street, Camden, TN.

Mrs. Carolee Borchert, age 84, of Camden, TN. passed away on January 31, 2019 at The Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. Mrs. Borchert was born on March 27, 1934 in Detroit, MI. to the late Weston Stoddard and Mary Gorski. She was preceded in death by husband Ervin Borchert. Mrs. Borchert was a retired CNA at Camden Healthcare & Rehab and a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Camden, TN.

Thomas Henry Farrell Sr.
December 17, 1948 – April 10, 2018

Died: Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Centennial Medical Center. He was born December 17, 1948 in Plattsburgh, NY. Mr. Farrell was an Army and Navy Veteran. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. Mr. Farrell was a tissue donor, so he could continue to help people even after his passing.

Mr Farrell was buried in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with Military Honors.

Mrs. Margarethe Marie Mikulski, age 98, of Anthoich TN, passed away on May 4, 2017 at Alive Hospice in Madison TN. Mrs. Mikulski was born on March 29, 1919 in Jersey City NJ. She was born to the late Francis Mayer and Martha Diepner Mayer. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lionel Mikulski. She was a sewing instructor at Singer Corporation. Survived by: several nieces and nephews

Graveside Service was held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11am at Benton Memory Gardens Cemetery in Camden, TN. Father Anthony Onyekwe officiated.


Mrs. Beverly Jean Maasen
February 19, 1932 – March 20, 2017

Mrs. Beverly Jean Maasen, age 85 of New Johnsonville, TN passed away on March 20, 2017 at Humphrey’s County Nursing Home. Mrs. Maasen was born on February 19, 1932 in Goldwin, ND to the late Julius Scheidt and Aleen Hanson Scheidt. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Raymond Kenneth Maasen; infant sons, Douglas Maasen, Gregory Maasen; grandson, William Kyle Maasen; brothers, Robert Scheidt, Donald Scheidt, James Scheidt, William Scheidt; sisters, Darlene Rice and Shirley Spicer. She was a long standing member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was involved in many church and community activities through the years. She was also a homemaker and member of the St. Mary’s Ladies Guild.

Raymond Kenneth Maasen
September 9, 1926 – February 12, 2017

Mr. Raymond Kenneth Maasen, age 90 of New Johnsonville, TN passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Humphrey’s Co. Nursing Home. Mr. Maasen was born on September 9, 1926 in Jefferson City, MO to the late Edward Maasen and Ida Bosch Massen. He was also preceded by two sons, Douglas Maasen, Gregory Maasen, grandchild, Kyle Maasen. Mr. Maasen was retired from TVA and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mr. Maasen served with the 11th Airborne in the Philippines during WWII. He was also a long standing member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus Council 9754 Assembly 2763.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Stanfill, a Retired Senior Chief U.S. Navy, died Friday, December 16, 2016 at Jackson General Hospital. He was born on October 3, 1937 in Chicago, IL to Grady Murrell and Rose Beal Stanfill. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by a grandson Grady Jonathan Stanfill, a sister Juanita Purifoy and three brothers Bill Stanfill, Erney Stanfill and Tommy Stanfill

She was a retired Terminal Manager with Cleveland Hopkins Airport and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Frank Marinak and five brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Esther Marie Lomax, 84, of Bruceton, Tennessee passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in Huntingdon. Pallbearers: Dwayne Pierce, Dick Stokes, Jim McGinness, Norman Keug, Brian Lomax, and Gilman Jambard.

Mrs. Lomax was born May 29, 1931 in East Chicago, Indiana to the late Adam and Edith (Norris) Volk. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Wendal Lomax and one son, Charles Michael Lomax.

She is survived by one daughter, Sandy Simpson (Jim) of Bruceton; one son, Danny Lomax of Centerville, Ohio; one sister, Deloris Pavuk of Indiana. She also leaves four grandchildren, Brian Lomax (Jessica) of Centerville, Ohio, Shannon McGinness (Jim) of Verona, New Jersey, Amber Kee of Jackson, Beth Blank (Neal) of Waynesville, Ohio, and four great grandchildren, Jaden Walkemeyer of Centerville, Ohio, Annie Blank and Avery Blank both Waynesville, Ohio, and Joseph Gabringer of Centerville, Ohio.

A funeral mass was held Saturday, Feb. 27th, 11am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with burial followed in Benton Memory Gardens. Cremation services were performed in Texas.

Mr. Smoot passed away February 14, 2016, at his home. He was born August 14, 1959, in Camden, TN, to Marian L. Nimmo and the late John S. Smoot Sr. He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Mrs. Shellooe passed away Monday, February 1, 2016, at Camden General Hospital. She was born December 13, 1957, in Buffalo, NY, to William Zeeb and Georgia Lee Wilson. She worked as a Teacher’s Assistant at Camden Elementary School.

Father Joseph L. Paolozzi, son of Samuel and Mary Paolozzi died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital, in Jackson, TN.

Father Joe was born on March 28, 1932, in Utica, NY. From the family of 8 children he left home at the age of 16 and joined the Society of Mary while earning his college degree. Joe was sent to Switzerland to study for the priesthood. He was ordained in 1961. After his ordination, Father Joe taught at a number of high schools affiliated with the order of Society of Mary and at the University of Dayton. He also attended the Catholic University of America where he completed the coursework for a doctorate in psychology. Since 1978, Father Joe accepted Bishop Dozier’s invitation to come to the Diocese of Memphis. He worked for many years at St. Peter’s Villa and as a pastor at Our Lady of Sorrows in Memphis, St. Mary’s in Camden, and St. Jude’s in Martin. Father Joe retired from active ministry in 2011 but he was helping at Holy Cross Church in Paris, TN.

Father Joe’s funeral will be at St. Jude’s in Martin, TN, 12 noon on Thursday, December 10, 2015. In lieu of flowers please send any donations “In loving memory of Father Joe Paolozzi” to Holy Cross Church (1210 E. Wood St. Paris, TN 38242). Donations will be used at Father Joe’s request for the Pre-K and Lifeteen programs at Holy Cross Church.

Nicholas enjoyed hunting, fishing, reading and working on the farm with the alpacas, goats and horses. His love for his pets – Rocky, Zumi, Tex and Jack – knew no bounds.

Nicholas made an impression on everyone he met and enjoyed making people laugh. He was loved dearly and gave love unconditionally. He will be missed by all tremendously!
